The sun everyday goes from east to west
And his followers follow him with all their zest
Down the road, beyond the flood of mud
In the valley of a thousand sunflower buds.
Filling the valley with all their yellowness
Guided by the sun with the real finesse
Like the way a small child is taught
The father giving him all that he has got.
Soon these buds will blossom into flowers
They will no longer follow the sun during his hours
Some will watch over south, some west, some north and east
But the sun's rays for them will never be decreased.
Even though they no longer will follow the sun
Still we will call the 'sunflowers', flowers of the sun
Because the sun has made them what they are
Even though they no longer will follow this star
The same is true in our lives as well
Those who taught us to walk, run, speak and spell
We will always bear their name, remain indebted to them
No matter how tall we grow on our own stem.
The sun everyday goes from east to west
And his followers follow him with all their zest
Down the road, beyond the flood of mud
In the valley of a thousand sunflower buds.
This is awesome. :)
