Price Of A Freedom

Nobody knows the real value of freedom
until it is snatched from them.
The same was true for two friends
who were put in a jail in the city of Bethlehem.

Falsely accused of the murder of the Mayor's brother
they were tortured every day.
But they put their pride before their death
and would not submit in any way.

It is quiet common to blame the poor
and the weak for what they have not done.
The only aim is to show the power of authority
nobody cares whose underneath the gun.

After many tries and tortures when the two
battered and tattered didn't took the blame.
The jailor ordered the criminals to make them speak
or their consequences would have been the same.

Now even the inmates started to fight
with the two innocent friends.
Each day had become a living hell
how to survive blows from the thousands?

One night one of the friends told the other
that he badly wishes to see freedom one more time.
The second friend promised to buy it for him
even if he had to commit real crime.

The next day to the frist friend's surprise,
the second started to fight.
Their fight was broken by the authorities
who put the first friend in a small room with no light.

This small room was a place where "an inmate
fighting with a fellow inmate was sent".
Maybe they should have added to this rule
"only if the the fight takes place without jailor's consent".

In that small room, the first friend wondered
why did his only friend did this.
He wished for freedom and how could it be found here
in this small room which appeared like an abyss.

The next day while he was crying over his fate
he heard that there was a strife.
One guard told him after controlling his laughter
his friend was killed with a knife.

Hearing  these words the first friend fainted
and lost all his control.
When he regained consciousness
he weepingly prayed for his friend's soul.

The very next day at sharp noon
the doors of that cruel room were opened as per the decree.
And when the prisoner walked out in the sun
the guard whispered in his ear,"You are free".

"Your friend took all the blame
and traded his life with your freedom.
But a prisoner is set free only at 12:00 PM
as per the laws of this Kingdom."

Now the first friend realised
why his friend had fought.
So that he may not stop him
while his own freedom was being bought

His friend truly kept his promise
and bought the freedom for first friend.
He sacrificed his life for his friend's freedom,
freedom something which other's won't even lend.

The first friend began to shake terribly
and started to weep for his friend he lost.
He wanted freedom badly but
not at such a steep cost.

Just A Friend

I called you at this hour
To tell how my life is sour
Without you who cannot see
How I am dying within me.

You never miss a chance to hurt
And to make our conversations curt
So that I don't take a step ahead
To say again what I have always said.

The three words always frighten you
But of all I say, they are the most true
So listen to me and don't shut me out
For listening is all, love is about.

Closing your eyes won't make me go away
Your lips may lie, the truth is what your eyes say.
So tell me you don't want to walk with me again
And we will walk away without a complain.

Tell me, if we walk away wouldn't you turn
To look once again at me with a bit of concern
For the person who would cross lands
So that he could once again hold you hands?

We will meet again, that I know
The situation may only permit us to say a sour hello
When your friends will ask, will you be able to pretend
And tell them I am no one special, just a friend.

Path of the Hierophant

Eyes shut as though in a long slumber
Sat a Hierophant unwary of all encumber
Under the Tree of Knowledge, besides a path
Which led to the location of a Holy Bath.

The Bath was created by land's first King
Created after he broke the Wisdom spring
A Prince would come here once for recognition
To visit after ascending throne as a part of tradition.

Soon came time for a new King's visit
After his father died by an accurate hit
By a stray arrow fired in battle
While invloved with his Minister in prattle.

The new elected King was poor in administration
He didn't know his people well nor their expectation.
So instead he decided to go away for some time
To visit the Bath and get rid of all grime.

The king came on a horse, newly enthroned
To visit the Bath which now he duly owned.
Travelling alone to prove his memory and remembrance
The poor King forgot the way to the entrance.

Seeing the Hierophant lost in meditation
He sat at his feet, not caring of his own station
Opening his eyes the Hierophant saw the king
Knowing his intention he handed him a long string.

"Tie a stone to this string's one end
And hold the other, after longest extend
Then keep on travelling along this straight road
And do not stop till you see the stopping of this load."

The King went on straight, puzzled and amazed
Astonished that a string can guide him, he was dazed.
But the Hierophant sat again with a smile
Thinking the King will surely take a while.

Suddenly the Tree of Knowledge began to speak
"O Hierophant, why are you smiling after troubling a meek.
The load won't stop to move if the King moves too
Path was on the right, why didn't you told, if you knew?"

"Ah" said the Hierophant after a long delay
"To send him on the wrong path, is that you say?
Forgetting not only the path but also his Kingdom
He was unknown to the ignorant Fool he had become."

"Until the load stops moving he would have visited
His Kingdom, part-by-part, together knitted
Then there will be no need for the Bath's location
After understanding his people, earning their admiration.

I didn't send him on a path which is wrong
Only on a path which is a little long.
A King not knowing his Kingdom is like a person with no sight
Then what good it would have done to point the path on the right?."

My Sixth-Sense

Can't see the lining of the clouds without you,
The light is fading.
The shimmering moonlight appears so blue,
Tonight no star is breaking.

Try as I can, I can't hear the murmur of the river,
Every sound is still.
The water percolates through me and I shiver,
No sound comes, in the chill.

No taste I can taste, now every taste is sour,
Even taste of a nectar full of honey.
My parched tongue hurts every hour,
Although now no day is sunny.

The smell of the flowers, is plainly pale,
They can never match your scent.
If I can just catch its receding trail,
I'd be content.

All touch is rough, that is all I feel,
Whether it be silk or satin.
Even the calm and smooth water does not appeal,
After the touch of your skin.

All these senses are meaningless
The only thing that makes sense is your presence.
I cannot stop till you I possess
Now that you have become my sixth sense.

Don't Go Off Wandering

Sitting on the edge of a cold mountain
If ever you wonder what will become of us
Remember the starry nights we spent holding hands
And my promise that I will hold you for all eternity, thus.

Then remember the songs we sang
when we each walked towards our beloved
Then remember how the songs we sang
Helped keep the darkness away till we met.

Keep your faith in me, one day I will come
But don't go off wandering
I have my reasons, even if I can't justify some.

Sitting on the edge of a barren desert
If ever you wonder, is my love true
Remember the day that I expressed my wish
To cut my heart out and present it to you.

Then remember the times we waited
When we knew that our love would arrive
Then remember how the wait in contemplation
Helped to make our love seem more alive.

Keep your faith in me, one day I will come
But don't go off wandering
I have my reasons, even if I can't justify some.

And I will bring you fire on the mountain
Through my passion that burns for you
And I will bring you shelter in the desert
Through my faith, my heart yearns for you.

Definition Of Sublimation

Existing as the ultimate mutation
Monotonous people all around
Existing as the ultimate abomination
Injecting nausea wherever they are found.

Subsistence is not an option
Life is not defined in that domain
Must live life out of abstraction
Those frail ideas that reach no sane

Living is not a revolution
No one is great who survives a day
If life was really a revelation
How much about yourself can you say?

Waiting for a resurrection
Having done all, laid to waste
It is nothing but an insurrection
And no certainty that failure will be replaced

All those who wish for a liberation
Are they rebelling against order?
What if then freedom becomes an emulation?
Who will play the role of the accorder?

Love is like a calibration
That brings you to the right place
Don't take it as a conflagration
It can burn you in the face

Loving out of desperation
Is anything but love, its already a proven fact
Writing heartbroken rhymes for approbation
Will bring sympahty, not love, as a benefact

Friendship is an appellation
Of sustainence with assistance
But don't look at it with contemplation
Although it does give a reason for existence

When friendship becomes an imitation
It is as good as animosity
Holding on to it leads to incrimination
Just move on, it won't be considered atrocity

Coming to the definition of sublimation
It is a form of science in which
The solid state undergoes a transition
To gas state directly without the liquid switch

But this definition in application
Is when we leave the worldly sense
And make our own defintion
Of who we are, and let all others condense.

A Consultant Is Born

A lawyer happily went to court
to add another case to his winning streak.
But a new judge whose nephew this lawyer had defeated
was appointed to his court for the week.

"The case is murder, that ought to be simple"
so the lawyer thought.
"Best way to make a man fell guilt,
is to make him fell distraguht."

He told the man," Commit your mistakes,
God is judging your facade".
But the Judge fined the lawyer $1000 for contempt,
saying "The only Judge here is me, and not the God."

Swallowing his pride he paid the fine,
and next day he went to the court
To hopefully win against a person
who killed animals for sport.

The man pleaded,"My wife would have left me
if I hadn't got her the fur."
Lawyer said" All women are stupid,
should've got a diamond for her."

Hearing this, all the women
present in the court erupted.
But before the commotion died,
the judge interupted.

"My wife loves fur too,
do you call her also stupid?"
"Buy each women here a diamond,
or I'll make your life insipid."

Then the case of a very
cunning person came
Who sold three people, each a house,
each the same.

"I showed them, these 3 pictures
of different sides of the house and they all agreed."
The lawyer fearing he might not win,
remained still and did not plead.

The judge asked the lawyer
"Will you say anything or just go with the flow?"
The lawyer took a $100 bill from the accused
and said,"Your Honour, please let him go."

The man went happily
but the judge caught the lawyer like a mouse
Looking at the pictures he said,
"Dammit, you supported a crook, this is my house".

The losses and humiliation of the lawyer,
by the media, were publicly criticized
And his wife left him, after telling him
that he should be chastised.

Now broke and with three losses in his career
the lawyer gave it a thought.
I must win the next case or
I'll be left to rot.

The next case was of a wealthy divorce victim
who although wedded new
Was caught by her wife sending cards written
"I still love you".

"I got a card by mail on Valentines' Day
with nothing written except 'Guess Who'
"So I sent a card to all my girlfriends,
who the real sender was I never knew."

The lawyer won this time to the Judge's surprise
and all praised him by the yard
The judge asked in the parking lot,
"I wonder who really sent him the card?"

The lawyer smiled and replied,"I desperately wanted to win,
I sent those cards to everyone in the city"
The judge said,"Oh so it was after reading YOUR card
that my wife left me, questioning my intergrity"

Now the lawyer lost his job and
was left with no money
So he started giving advice on how not to screw up
and opened his own company.

And thus a consultant was born,
they are the people who
Take our money, to tell us not what can be done
but what not to do.

On This Bridge

On this bridge I am waiting for you
you, my true love, only for you.

I wish that you break all the bonds you tie,
With this fickle minded world that won't even care if you die

But I am here waiting, to give you this lovely ring,
In return I only wish your love and I will have everything

Surely, love is no crime, I have committed no wrong,
Let the people say as they please, I only want to sing our love song

On this bridge I am waiting for you
you, my true love, only for you.

I can never forget our first meet, I hope you too remember,
When we collided with each other in the dreamy night of December

And when I got up and I looked in your blue eyes,
Words didn't came out, even after so many tries

You only smiled and walked away, leaving me in a daze there,
I knew that your were the one, whom more than life I could dear

On this bridge I am waiting for you
you, my true love, only for you.

Your father may not value my love for you.
And I too cannot give evidence of how much it is true

However , sometimes even evidences fail to convey,
What a true feeling is and what my heart has to say

What is the mark that a true love has?
But that my each day is yours and my nights have become hard to pass

On this bridge I am waiting for you
you, my true love, only for you.

The letters that bear your love are the only thing I read,
Now , your hand in marriage is all I need

Love has no station, it knows no borders,
Your love is waiting, please, disobey your father's orders

For you my love,I can go to the World's end,
I no longer care of this world of pretend

On this bridge I am waiting for you
you, my true love, only for you.

The time is passing but I do have faith,
You will come I am sure, but please do haste

You looked so beautiful on our first meet in your dress blue,
I have no regrets in life but one,why didn't I held you?

I should have kept you forever in my arms,
I wait in this chilly night and only this thought keeps me warm

I have no time, your father's men are out to kill me
I have to go so that you can later meet me.

I wish you had come and we should have met
I leave this ring and letter for you, they will tell you that

On this bridge I waited for you
you, my true love, only for you.

Message For The Enemy

Picking on me, you just couldn't see
What a big mess it was going to be
But I still don't mind taking you on
'Cause you are still wrong.

You are not the King of the generation
You are just a clown in frustation
When you laugh at me I bid my time
'Cause this era's still mine.

Talk about my failures all you want
You think I am out, as you rant
It only helps me focus on my aim
'Cause I am still in game.

You think to win you gotta push me down
But when I come back, you're only left to frown
I am not your ligature, but you are not believing
'Cause you are still bleeding.

When I win, you say" Every dog has his day!"
When you win, you say" Oh, what a loser you are, I must say!"
So I swear I will listen no more
'Cause you're still licking the floor.

Tell me how much about me you know?
Am I the loser when you're the one giving the cheap blow?
Am I the pilferer when you put up a low show?
'Cause what I am, you still don't know.

You said you looked up to me
And now you say you wanna be free
Bad situations always made you, wanting to flee
'Cause you are still a wannabe.

Leave whenever you start fainting
When you come back I'll be still standing
Perhaps then we can have a man-to-man fight
'Cause beating you is still a delight.

Why keep pretending when you time is done?
Pack your bags, it's time for you to run
Less time to spare, when there's a lot for the picking
'Cause your time's still ticking.

Let's give it a shot, I'll give you headstart
End this now and race to the last
But perhaps when you lose you will start pretending
'Cause for you, there is still no ending

Suicide By Murder

I have chewed all my fingernails
and gnawed on my knuckles
but this guilt won't go
I have cleaned all the bloodstains
and wiped all the fingerprints
but this stigma won't stop to show

And I will try no more to break apart
from my culpable self hurting from start.
But why do you stay
when you did your part?
Why do you stay
when I carved out your heart.

Could I have killed you
when you already had no life?
Could I have killed you
when you were dead before feeling the knife?

And did you really took a part of me with you
Did I commit my suicide by your murder, now I have no clue.

Will this be written
in my sins or in yours?
Will you answer me
if I keep banging your heart's doors?
Forgetting my face as a criminal's
you won't be able justify yourself
Until you cut your heart out
and put in a jar on your shelf.

No angel will resurrect you,
you will lie still in your grave
You will not be able to breathe again
no matter how deep is your crave.

Nor will I be able to breathe
I will only writhe
within the scars
We promised to share everything
I will not let you take all
this death is together ours.
